Police in the Nilgiris district paid last respects to ‘Mokka’, a sniffer dog that served with the force and was credited with helping solve 26 criminal cases.
The tribute was held in Ooty, where personnel remembered the dog’s role in investigations and its support to police teams during operations.
According to the report, Mokka’s work as a trained sniffer dog was linked to multiple case detections across the district.
The event highlighted the contribution of service animals in policing and the bond between handlers and their canine partners.
