New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge have jointly written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a case alleging irregularities in donations collected for the Ayodhya Ram temple.
In their letter, the leaders said the Prime Minister would be aware of the alleged wrongdoing and argued that devotees who donated their hard-earned money with faith and devotion now feel cheated. They also noted that it is widely known that members of the trust are associated with the RSS, VHP and their affiliated organisations.
The Congress leaders urged the Prime Minister to order an independent investigation into the alleged fraud and to ensure that the trust’s accounts are made public. They described the matter as a major betrayal of devotees and said ensuring accountability and a proper remedy is the government’s responsibility.
They further demanded that action be taken against those involved, regardless of their position or influence.
The joint letter has triggered political attention, with the issue being discussed widely following its release.
