Members of the Firecrackers Traders Welfare Association submitted a petition at the Coimbatore Collectorate, pressing a set of demands related to the trade.

In their representation, the association called for a ban on online sale of firecrackers, citing concerns affecting licensed sellers.

They also sought the setting up of godowns in every district to support storage and distribution needs.

The petition further highlighted issues linked to licences and requested steps to ensure smoother compliance for traders.

The submission was made on July 20, 2026, as part of the association’s efforts to raise the matter with the district administration.
