The Madras High Court has questioned former DMK minister Senthil Balaji on why he has not surrendered so far despite being granted anticipatory bail.

The query came in a case registered over allegations that a TVK MLA was approached and bargained with in an attempt to topple the government. In the matter, the High Court had earlier granted conditional anticipatory bail to Senthil Balaji and Ashok Kumar.

After securing anticipatory bail, the two moved the High Court seeking directions that the police should not harass them. However, the court dismissed their petitions.

The judge noted that both had not surrendered even after being granted anticipatory bail, and asked how they could seek an order against harassment without surrendering.
