New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that question papers have been leaked 152 times over the past 10 years, but said not a single person has been punished.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Rahul said a few individuals or groups were “destroying” the country’s education system, and that the future of lakhs of students—whom he called India’s most valuable asset—was being affected.
He claimed that 7.5 crore students have been impacted by paper leaks, many of them from middle-class and poor families who spend their savings on education. He added that repeated leaks push students into severe mental stress.
Rahul also criticised the government’s handling of the issue despite a budget allocation of Rs 1.4 lakh crore for education. He said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should accept responsibility for the leaks.
