Delhi University has expressed concern that certain “selfish forces” are exploiting students who are currently participating in protests in the national capital.
In a statement, the university said it understands the worries and pain of students. It added that instead of addressing their fears, some groups are taking advantage of the situation for their own interests.
The development comes as a student outfit continues its protest in Delhi, even after the Union government invited the group for talks. The outfit has reportedly declined the invitation.
The university said the immediate need is to de-escalate the situation and ease students’ mental distress. It noted that only then can students focus meaningfully on their studies and their future.
