New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a key consultation with senior Union ministers on the next course of action in the NEET question paper leak case.
The issue has triggered intensified protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, where demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Tensions rose after attempts to lay siege to Parliament, leading to violence and a charged atmosphere in the national capital. Opposition parties have also been disrupting Parliament proceedings.
Amid the unrest, the Prime Minister announced that fast-track courts would be set up to handle the NEET paper leak-related cases. However, protesters rejected the announcement as insufficient and continued their agitation, reiterating their demand for the minister’s resignation.
As a security measure, internet services have been suspended around the Parliament complex. The high-level meeting was attended by Union ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman and BJP president J.P. Nadda, among others.
