MDMK principal secretary Durai Vaiko has submitted a complaint to the TVK leadership, alleging that TVK’s policy propaganda secretary Nanjil Sampath has been making harsh remarks against MDMK general secretary Vaiko and against him even after MDMK joined the TVK alliance.
According to the report, Nanjil Sampath was once a staunch supporter of Vaiko during his time in MDMK, before moving to AIADMK and later to DMK. He left DMK and joined TVK last year, and was subsequently appointed as TVK’s policy propaganda secretary by party leader and Chief Minister Vijay.
During the Assembly election period, Sampath had strongly criticised the DMK alliance and also targeted Vaiko and Durai Vaiko. After DMK’s defeat and TVK forming the government, MDMK has now joined the TVK alliance, with Vaiko publicly stating that the party would stand as a shield for Chief Minister Vijay.
MDMK functionaries allege that Sampath has continued to attack Vaiko and Durai Vaiko on TVK platforms and in the media, including remarks they consider unnecessary. Citing the impropriety of criticising leaders within the same alliance, Durai Vaiko has sought action against Sampath and has also raised the issue with TVK leadership and minister Aadhav Arjuna, they said.
