Delhi Police have identified and blocked more than 400 social media accounts for allegedly spreading misinformation about the ongoing student protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
The protest is being held against the alleged leak of the NEET examination question paper. Police said the online narrative around the protest has seen a steady flow of posts and claims circulating daily.
According to Delhi Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh, investigators found that many of the accounts pushing false content were being operated from Pakistan. Police are working with relevant agencies to trace and act against such handles.
He said the accounts were used to circulate fake posts, including AI-generated content and manipulated photographs. The officer urged the public to verify information before sharing it further.
