PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss on Friday announced that he is stepping away from politics, marking the decision on his 88th birthday.
The announcement was made during his birthday programme held at Saraswathi College in Konerikuppam near Tindivanam. Ramadoss and Anbumani travelled together from the party leader’s residence at Thailapuram in Villupuram district to attend the event.
In his address, Ramadoss said he would begin his “political retirement” from today. He stated that he would not speak about politics and would not interfere in political matters.
He also said that the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) would hereafter be looked after by Anbumani.
