The matter relating to the resignation of four AIADMK MLAs will be taken up for a fresh hearing on July 30, according to reports.

The MLAs—Isakki Subbiah, Maragatham Kumaravel, Jayakumar and Sathyabama—had won in the recently concluded Assembly election as AIADMK candidates, but later resigned from their posts.

Subsequently, all four joined the TVK. They are expected to submit their explanations again on July 30 regarding their decision to resign.

In the same case, the Assembly Secretary has reportedly issued a summons to AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) to appear in person on July 30 and present the party’s stand. It has been indicated that a 30-minute inquiry is planned for each MLA.

AIADMK had sought action under anti-defection provisions against the MLAs who resigned and later joined TVK, sources noted.
