Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan on Friday said the state is in the process of revising school curricula.
Speaking at a student achievers’ felicitation event organised by Amalorpavam Lourdes Academy in Puducherry, he said space scientist Mylswamy Annadurai has been appointed as the head of the curriculum committee.
The minister said the government has decided to teach mathematics through stories and is working to redesign textbooks with more colour illustrations and charts.
He added that students will be taught not only artificial intelligence but also “natural intelligence”. While AI is being introduced widely, he said the state plans to go a step further by teaching students how to use AI.
Rajmohan also noted that the ‘Illam Thedi Kalvi’ programme has already begun in many schools, and that upcoming classes will include AI along with lessons aimed at strengthening natural intelligence.
