A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court alleging that DMK leader and former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin concealed property-related details while filing his nomination during the last Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

According to the plea, Stalin contested from the Kolathur constituency and allegedly failed to disclose details linked to a DMK trust and certain asset particulars in his election affidavit. The petitioner, Thirugnanasambanthan, has sought a direction for an inquiry by the Election Commission.

When the matter came up for hearing on Monday, Stalin’s counsel argued that information relating to a trust need not be furnished in the nomination affidavit.

After hearing both sides, the court permitted the petitioner to file translated versions of the documents. The case was adjourned to July 29 for further hearing.
