RAMESWARAM: ‘We The Leaders’ president Annamalai on Sunday said he has formed a new organisation inspired by the path shown by former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Marking Kalam’s death anniversary, Annamalai paid floral tributes at the Kalam National Memorial in Rameswaram. He later took part in a science exhibition organised by the Abdul Kalam Foundation, where he addressed students and visitors.
Annamalai said the initiative aims to train one lakh students from Tamil Nadu in political ethics, practical processes and discipline. He added that details of the training camp would be announced on October 15, Kalam’s birth anniversary.
Recalling Kalam’s legacy, he said the former President had worked with eight Prime Ministers holding different political views and played a key role in India’s progress in science and technology, including space, rockets and missiles. He urged students and youth to follow Kalam’s example, saying sustained effort could help strengthen the country’s economy and defence sector.
