New Delhi: Meta has issued an apology after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s selfie video was briefly taken down from Facebook, saying the removal happened by mistake.

The Prime Minister had shared the video with key assurances to students on preventing NEET question paper leaks and reforming examination systems. The post reportedly crossed 303 million views within 24 hours, being described as a world record.

Meta said the takedown was caused by a technical issue and that the video was subsequently restored on Facebook.

The Union government is examining the incident, and officials may be asked to appear in person to explain the temporary removal. A Meta spokesperson confirmed that the video was removed inadvertently and later reinstated.
