New Delhi: MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) held a coordination meeting at the Parliament complex in Delhi on Monday, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and BJP president J P Nadda were among the senior leaders present. The meeting also saw the first participation of the newly formed Indian Nationalist Citizens Party, described as a notable political development.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister called for strict action against those involved in selection and examination irregularities, after consultations with legal experts.
Rijiju reiterated that protecting students’ interests remains a continuing priority for the government. He also said that while discussing recently signed free trade agreements with various countries, the government’s focus on farmers’ welfare was highlighted.
