Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in the long-running Mekedatu dam issue linked to the Cauvery river.
In the letter, the Chief Minister urged the Centre not to grant approval to the Karnataka government for the Mekedatu dam project.
He also stressed that the rights of states must be protected in matters involving inter-state river disputes.
