Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday criticised Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of misusing Parliament by making what he called false and unsupported statements.
Speaking in New Delhi, Goyal said there was no firing incident, and condemned the raising of “baseless” allegations on the floor of the House. He claimed the remarks were not backed by evidence.
The minister further alleged that Rahul Gandhi did not speak about the bill or the subject under discussion for more than an hour, and instead delivered what he described as a collection of falsehoods.
Goyal said the government remained focused on children’s welfare, and asserted that Rahul Gandhi’s comments reflected frustration. He demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologise to the House and the public, and called for the recorded proceedings related to the remarks to be removed, saying false statements should not be allowed in Parliament.
