A rally led by K. Annamalai will be held in Chennai on August 16 under the banner of the ‘We The Leaders’ organisation, the group announced.
Annamalai, the former Tamil Nadu BJP president, has since left the party and formed ‘We The Leaders’, which has been conducting various social awareness programmes. The organisation said it ran anti-drug awareness activities throughout July.
For August, Annamalai has planned environment-focused initiatives across Tamil Nadu. From August 1, activities such as cleaning lakes and canals and planting saplings are scheduled to be carried out statewide.
On August 2, he is set to take part in coastal clean-up work in the southern districts, with visits planned to Kanyakumari, Uvari, Thoothukudi and Tiruchendur.
The group said the August 16 rally will proceed along the Rajarathinam Ground Road in Egmore, Chennai. Separately, Annamalai on Tuesday launched a ‘We The Leaders’ mobile app to coordinate the organisation’s activities, with downloads available via the Play Store and App Store for new and existing members.
