New Delhi: The BJP on Tuesday hit back at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, saying he has previously apologised in courts and has also apologised to Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in recent days.
Rahul Gandhi had told reporters in Delhi that he would not apologise to any BJP leader. Responding, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said the party’s stand on Rahul’s remarks in the Lok Sabha is clear and that he should apologise.
Patra alleged that Rahul claimed firing took place on the directions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Kiren Rijiju, along with other BJP leaders, have denied any such incident in press briefings.
Patra further questioned Rahul’s assertion that he had heard the Home Minister speak, asking how that would be possible. He also accused Rahul of making false claims earlier in the Rafale-related remarks involving Manohar Parrikar and Sushma Swaraj, and said Rahul must produce evidence if he has it.
