Tamil Nadu Minister Rajmohan on Wednesday said the government would consider reviving schemes that were discontinued in earlier administrations, including those initiated during the tenures of former Chief Ministers J Jayalalithaa and M Karunanidhi.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said that if such halted schemes are found to be beneficial, they would be reviewed, their impact assessed, and then implemented again.
The minister also shared what he called “good news” on school education, stating that student enrolment in Tamil Nadu government schools has increased this year compared to last year. He said more parents are choosing government schools, particularly at the primary level.
Calling government schools “the eyes” of the state, Rajmohan welcomed the rise in new admissions and said preparatory work is under way for announcements expected in the upcoming Assembly session and the budget.
