Tamil Nadu Information Technology Minister Kumar on Wednesday said a world-class Artificial Intelligence (AI) city will be established near Chennai with a fully integrated AI ecosystem.
He said the proposed AI city will bring together global-standard research centres, centres of excellence and industry campuses in one location, creating a comprehensive environment for AI development.
The minister was speaking after inaugurating the “Digital Disruption and Transformation” international conference and exhibition organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at Guindy in Chennai.
Stressing the need to build future-ready talent, he said the education system must be reshaped so that students emerge as AI creators and designers. He noted that eight districts in Tamil Nadu are progressing rapidly in AI development, and the government aims to expand this to 16 districts to develop globally competitive human resources.
