Tamil Nadu Minister Arunraj has alleged that bribery was the key reason several multinational companies avoided investing in the state in the past.
Speaking to reporters, he said investments were diverted to neighbouring states due to collections made in the name of “party fund”. He claimed such demands effectively became bribes and discouraged companies from choosing Tamil Nadu.
Arunraj said the situation is changing under the current administration, which he described as honest and transparent. He added that investments are now coming in “automatically” and that the trend is set to shift.
He further expressed confidence that Tamil Nadu would emerge as one of the leading states for attracting investments.
In the same interaction, he said Chief Minister Vijay had sought inputs on steps that could be taken for nurses’ welfare, and that a positive decision would be taken during the budget session.
