Chief Minister Vijay on Thursday presented medals to police officers who delivered exemplary performance in key policing duties.
The awards included medals instituted by the President, the Union Home Minister and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The ceremony was held at Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Chennai, where the Chief Minister received a ceremonial police parade salute.
Officials were honoured for notable work in narcotics enforcement and law-and-order operations. President’s medals were presented to IPS officers, and a total of 665 personnel received medals.
DGP Vanniyaperumal and Balanagadevi received the President’s medals from the Chief Minister. IG Maheshwari also received the award.
