Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the Centre is taking a series of steps to ensure a credible examination system across the country, and asserted that those involved in question paper leaks will not be allowed to get away.
In a video message posted on social media around midnight, Modi said multiple measures are being pursued, including forming task forces, creating guidelines for fast-track courts, and seeking inputs from states.
He noted that question paper leaks have remained a major challenge for both the Union and state governments for decades, and warned that such malpractices put children’s futures at risk. He said this makes broader reforms in the education system at both central and state levels a necessity.
Modi said those who “play with students’ futures” must not be spared under any circumstances. He pointed to the introduction of the Public Examinations Malpractice Prevention (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and said it was debated in both Houses of Parliament and passed with stringent provisions.
Calling the law an important beginning toward a trustworthy exam system, the Prime Minister said the reform process will continue.
