A woman from Noida has released a video apology after making obscene and offensive remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which later went viral on social media. In the video, she said she realised her mistake and sought forgiveness from the public.
The incident is linked to a protest in Delhi over the NEET question paper leak issue. The report said several anti-social elements and people with criminal backgrounds took part, leading to unrest in which police personnel were attacked and government vehicles were damaged.
Police identified the woman as Ruchita Singh, 25, who works at a salon in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. After the clip spread widely, she and her family allegedly went into hiding for three days.
In her apology video, she said she was provoked by others during the protest and ended up making “very bad” comments against the Prime Minister. She described it as her first and last mistake and appealed to the country to forgive her.
The report noted that the language used in the original clip shocked many viewers, as it was considered too obscene to be printed.
