Chennai: Minister Rajmohan has announced that all cases registered against students who protested against the NEET examination in Tamil Nadu have been dropped.

The protests were held in response to allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities linked to NEET. In Chennai, more than 50 students and youth were detained by police during road blockades and demonstrations, and were later released.

Following the protests, police had booked cases against the participants, triggering criticism and questions over action taken against students who said they were protesting peacefully.

In a social media post, Rajmohan said the withdrawal of cases was being carried out on the instructions of Chief Minister Vijay, adding that further details would be released soon and expressing thanks to the Chief Minister.
