Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been acquitted in a case related to allegations of sexual harassment made by a leading Indian woman wrestler.
The complaint dates back to 2023, when Singh was serving as the president of the Wrestling Federation of India. The allegations drew national attention and intensified scrutiny of the federation.
Following the complaint, wrestlers staged sustained protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding action against Singh. The demonstrations became a major flashpoint in the wider debate over athlete safety and accountability.
The case proceeded through the stages of filing of charges and investigation before the court’s decision to acquit him, as reported.
