Four men from Haryana have been arrested for alleged malpractice during the Indian Air Force lower division clerk (LDC) written examination held at Avadi, near Chennai.
The exam was conducted at the Indian Air Force station in Avadi, with more than 1,000 candidates appearing from across the country. During routine verification of hall tickets and documents before the test began, officials found that Gaurav (21) had allegedly arrived to write the exam in place of a candidate named Aman Kumar.
Further checks reportedly revealed the use of forged certificates and a banned communication device, a GSM transmitter. Following this, officials searched the room where the suspect was staying and found that Anil (27) was allegedly preparing to impersonate another candidate, Sunil.
Investigators also learned that two others—Sawan (25) and Deepak (24)—had already entered the exam with a GSM transmitter and small Bluetooth earbuds. Officials rushed to the examination hall and caught them in the act, police said.
A complaint was filed by Air Force station officer Satyendra Kumar at the Avadi Mutha Pudupet police station. Based on the complaint, police arrested all four on Monday.
