Parliament’s Monsoon Session, which began on July 20 and is scheduled to run till August 13, continued to face repeated disruptions on Monday as opposition parties intensified protests inside the House.
According to the report, Congress and other opposition MPs have been raising slogans over the alleged NEET question paper leak and demanding the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. They also protested the police action against students who had demonstrated at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
The disruptions have affected both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, with little legislative business conducted during the first two weeks of the session. The third week also began with both Houses getting stalled.
When the Lok Sabha met on Monday, opposition MPs again created an uproar, condemning the lathi-charge and the reported use of pellet guns against students. They demanded that senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah take responsibility.
Amid the continued ruckus, Speaker Om Birla adjourned the Lok Sabha till 2 pm.
