Videos and posts alleging political activity inside government school campuses in Tamil Nadu have triggered fresh controversy, with political parties and educationists voicing strong objections.
According to reports, after the T.V.K. government assumed office, party members filmed “reels” in government schools while claiming to distribute welfare assistance, and shared them on social media. The backlash prompted the School Education Department to issue a firm directive that school premises should be used only for educational activities and not for political events.
Despite the warning, similar incidents are said to be continuing in multiple schools. A recent video from Karaikudi showed Mineral Resources Minister Prabhu attending a school function while students chanted “TVK, TVK,” with the minister seen standing amid the crowd.
The footage has drawn renewed condemnation, with critics questioning why such activities persist even after official instructions. The continued silence and lack of visible action from School Education Department officials has also led to public dissatisfaction, the report said.
