New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said the ongoing disruption in Parliament by Opposition parties is likely to be resolved soon.
Opposition members have been stalling proceedings while raising multiple issues, including alleged question paper leaks. The Centre has said it is ready for a discussion, but the Opposition has continued to block the House.
Against this backdrop, Rijiju met Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi for about 50 minutes. This was their second meeting in the last 10 days.
Rahul Gandhi said the Opposition is not demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah over the reported use of pellet guns during a students’ protest, but is insisting that Shah give an explanation in Parliament.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Rijiju described it as a courtesy call and reiterated that the parliamentary impasse would be resolved soon.
