School Education Minister Rajmohan has said the Tamil Nadu Budget has provided a real increase in funds for the school education department, even as there are claims that the allocation is lower than last year.
Responding to criticism that the budget outlay for school education has been reduced, the minister said the actual funding made available is higher when viewed in real terms.
He pointed out that the 2025-26 DMK budget has earmarked Rs 46,767 crore for school education.
The minister’s remarks came as the budget allocations for key sectors are being discussed and compared with previous years’ figures.
