Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay on Thursday congratulated Finance, Planning and Development Minister Maria Wilson for presenting the revised Tamil Nadu Budget for 2026-27, and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Vinoth for tabling the agriculture financial statement.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said the government, within three months of assuming office, had delivered a budget focused on Tamil Nadu’s development and centred on public welfare. He described the exercise as one that has drawn appreciation.
Vijay said the budget has been framed with a long-term vision and is expected to inspire fresh confidence among a wide range of groups, including students, youth, women, children, persons with disabilities, transgender persons, workers, fishermen, weavers, entrepreneurs and government employees.
He added that the agriculture statement has been designed to strengthen farmers’ welfare and livelihoods while also boosting allied sectors such as livestock and fisheries, dairy development, and food processing and value addition.
Concluding his message, the Chief Minister said he hoped the state’s “successful journey towards a prosperous Tamil Nadu” would continue.
