Chennai Police have arrested stock market trader PR Sundar in Bengaluru following a complaint from a female newsreader alleging sexual harassment and intimidation.
According to the complaint filed a few days ago, the woman told police that Sundar sexually harassed her, unlawfully confined her and threatened her.
Based on the allegations, police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) covering sexual harassment, offences against women and criminal intimidation. After the case was filed, Sundar went into hiding, police said.
Sundar has denied the allegations and issued a statement on X. In his post, he also made allegations against Anbuchchezhiyan, an SP serving in the Tamil Nadu Police’s Technical Services wing.
Police traced Sundar to Bengaluru and took him into custody, officials said.
