New Delhi: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said Parliament has continued to pass bills despite repeated disruptions by Opposition parties.
He said the ongoing protests and sloganeering have reduced the scope for detailed debate, and the situation has led to adjournments. Even so, he maintained that House business has continued.
Rijiju noted that NDA members in the Rajya Sabha have been participating in discussions. He also said there was no proposal for a special session, arguing that such a discussion is not feasible while a regular session is already underway.
According to him, a bill related to micro and small enterprises was passed amid the disruptions. He added that the functioning of the House should not be allowed to slip into confusion.
Rijiju said delimitation and women’s reservation are key issues, and alleged that the Congress is opposing fair representation for women.
