Chennai: The Agriculture Budget was presented in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday, with proceedings beginning at 9.30 am. Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi took his seat before Chief Minister Vijay arrived.
After entering the House, the Chief Minister walked up to the central area instead of heading straight to his seat. He greeted ministers and MLAs seated on the ruling side, and also acknowledged MLAs on the opposition benches.
Party leaders seated in the front row stood up and returned the greeting. However, the Chief Minister avoided looking towards Udhayanidhi’s side before taking his seat, and Udhayanidhi did not greet the Chief Minister either.
After the session ended, Agriculture Minister Vinoth reportedly got up quickly to meet the Chief Minister, but the CM had already left. Ministers and MLAs later congratulated Vinoth for presenting the Agriculture Budget.
Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Anand approached the cameramen recording the proceedings, sought some clarifications, and then exited the House.
