An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Delhi reportedly experienced a sudden jolt mid-air on August 4, causing panic among passengers.
According to the report, the aircraft briefly lost around 300 feet of altitude within seconds. The unexpected movement led several passengers to stumble and fall inside the cabin.
A total of 17 people, including cabin crew members, were injured in the incident. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has conducted an inquiry into the episode.
After the flight landed safely in Delhi, the pilots underwent routine post-landing substance testing as per protocol. Aviation department sources said the pilot was found to have used drugs.
Air India, in its official response, confirmed that post-flight testing was carried out but said it could not comment further as the official results had not yet been shared with the airline.
