Dr Akansha Singh (39), an agricultural researcher at CSIR–Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), has achieved a rare feat by securing three national-level recognitions in a single year.
With a PhD in Botany, she works in the areas of crop protection and crop production, focusing on agricultural science and sustainable crop research.
She has been selected as a Young Scientist for 2026, an honour that recognises her contributions to the field. The award is scheduled to be presented at a seminar at Banaras Hindu University in December 2026.
This is her third national honour in 2026. Earlier in the year, she was inducted as a member of the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) and was also chosen as a Young Associate of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA).
