Health Minister Arunraj on Friday said contract nurses seeking permanent employment could expect “good news” soon, following discussions with the Chief Minister.
He was speaking to reporters after inaugurating an intensive care unit (ICU) skill upgradation training camp for nurses at Vijaya Health Centre hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai.
The minister said hospitals require not only doctors but also skilled nurses, and noted that nurses working on consolidated pay for a long period have been pressing for regularisation.
On the issue of Lok Sabha constituency delimitation, Arunraj said people expect all parties to stand together on matters of state interest. He also criticised the DMK’s stance and made remarks about the party’s relationship with the Centre and developments involving the Congress in the alliance.
