Prohibition and Excise Minister Vignesh on Friday alleged that certain sections were attempting to create a bad name for the T.Ve.K. government, claiming they were doing so because they could not engage in corruption under the present administration.
Speaking to reporters in Neelambur near Coimbatore, the minister said the government is conducting awareness programmes to eliminate drug culture among students. He added that anti-drug awareness events would be organised in every college.
He also said TASMAC outlets would carry awareness messages on their name boards as part of the campaign.
The minister further alleged that corruption in the Prohibition department had taken place during the previous regime, and said several changes have been introduced now. He asserted that in the current government, “nothing can be done with money,” and that there would be no place for slander or obscenity.
