Remarks at Coimbatore book launch

V. The Leaders president Annamalai on Monday claimed that India inflicted damage worth $1.5 billion on Pakistan during the military action referred to as “Operation Sindoor”. He said this would be around ₹14,500 crore at today’s value.

Book on the operation

Addressing a book release event in Coimbatore, Annamalai said the book should be read by students and highlighted the hard work of soldiers. He added that the book could inspire young people to join the Indian Army and serve the nation.

Cost and economic comparison

Citing a research report, he said the total cost incurred by India for “Operation Sindoor” was $408 million (about ₹3,887 crore). He also compared the size of India’s economy at $4.1 trillion with Pakistan’s at $375 billion, arguing that stronger economic growth enables a country to meet defence needs.

Claims on procurement and impact

Annamalai further alleged that Pakistan procured aircraft from China and drones from Turkey, and claimed the operation’s impact could include infrastructure damage and replacement of equipment. The event was also streamed live on the Dinamalar website and YouTube channel.
