A special resolution was passed in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Sunday, according to a Dinamalar TV report.

Chief Minister Vijay moved the resolution, urging that Tamil Thai Vazhthu should be sung first at all public functions held across Tamil Nadu.

The report quoted the Chief Minister expressing gratitude after the resolution was adopted.

The move was presented as a step to uphold the pride of Tamil and promote the prominence of Tamil Thai Vazhthu in public programmes.
