Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay on Sunday expressed gratitude to all political parties for supporting a special government resolution on Tamil Thai Vazhthu that was passed unanimously in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

In a statement shared after the passage of the resolution, the Chief Minister said Tamil is not merely a language but a way of thought, culture and civilisation, and described it as inseparable from the life and emotions of Tamils.

He said the resolution recognises the antiquity, uniqueness and pride of the Tamil language, and is aimed at honouring and safeguarding the sentiments of Tamil people. He termed it a historic measure and a high mark of respect paid to Tamil Thai.

Calling the day memorable in Tamil Nadu’s history, Vijay reiterated his thanks to all parties for their unanimous support. He concluded with a message: “May Tamil Thai’s fame rise across the world; may Tamil Nadu’s journey of success continue.”
