Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day. He made the request through a video shared on Instagram.
The call is linked to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, launched by the Union Ministry of Culture in 2022. Since then, many people have been hoisting the Tricolour at their residences every year.
Ahead of the August 15 celebrations, the Ministry of Culture has asked Indians to put up the Tricolour at home and upload it on Harghartiranga.com. Modi reiterated the message in his latest post.
In the video, the Prime Minister said the flag-hoisting should also mark the 150th year of the composition of the song “Vande Mataram”, and serve as a celebration of the nation’s pride and unity.
