Chennai saw another uptick in jewellery gold prices on Tuesday (August 12). The price of 22-carat gold increased by Rs 400 per sovereign, taking it to Rs 1,13,600.
On a per-gram basis, the rate rose by Rs 50 to Rs 14,200, according to the latest market update.
Gold prices in Tamil Nadu have been fluctuating in recent days, with international trends influencing local rates. On August 10, jewellery gold was sold at Rs 13,950 per gram and Rs 1,11,600 per sovereign, while silver was priced at Rs 250 per gram.
The report also noted that on the previous evening, gold had dipped by Rs 100 per gram to Rs 14,150, and fell by Rs 800 per sovereign to Rs 1,13,200, before moving higher again today.
