Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday cautioned young people to stay alert in what he called the “reels era”, warning that social media influencers could pull them in the wrong direction.
He was speaking at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi while releasing the autobiography of former President Ram Nath Kovind. Modi said he felt proud to unveil the book and described it as a work that could become a lasting symbol of India’s democratic tradition.
Addressing the youth, the Prime Minister said shortcuts can “cut short” one’s life journey. He urged young people to read autobiographies—especially of those they admire—and learn lessons from the struggles and experiences of others.
Modi also appealed for wider reading of Kovind’s autobiography, saying future generations can learn a great deal from it. He added that the country needs more young people like Kovind—those who do not break under circumstances and have the resolve to overcome every challenge.
