AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take action over an alleged “horse-trading” episode involving MLAs, according to party functionaries.
The development comes after six AIADMK MLAs resigned their posts following the Assembly election and later joined the TVK. Party sources claimed the TVK is aiming to win in those six constituencies and secure a standalone majority.
When Amit Shah visited Chennai last week, Palaniswami met him at the airport and handed over a letter. In it, he reportedly detailed the allegations that the TVK side had attempted to lure MLAs.
The letter also sought a probe by central investigating agencies into a complaint by AMMK MLA Kamaraj, who has alleged that he was approached with an offer. Palaniswami further complained that internal issues in the AIADMK are being aggravated as some people in Delhi are said to be supporting former minister Velumani, the functionaries said.
