Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has moved the Supreme Court challenging an order of the Ahmedabad High Court in a case alleging disproportionate assets.

The High Court had permitted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to proceed with an inquiry into the allegations against him.

It had also directed CBI officials last month to file a clear affidavit in connection with the matter.

Rahul Gandhi’s appeal against the High Court order is scheduled to come up for hearing on August 17 before a bench headed by Chief Justice Suryakant, along with Justices Jaimalya Bhakshi and V. Mohana.
