BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi’s criticism
Shimla: BJP MP and former Union minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the remarks “low-level”, “uncivil” and “arrogant”. He said the language used reflected the mindset of the Congress party.
Thakur’s response came after Rahul Gandhi sharply criticised the Prime Minister’s foreign policy and functioning. BJP leaders and allies have been issuing counter-statements in the wake of those comments.
In his remarks, Thakur alleged that Rahul Gandhi had been “rejected by the people” multiple times and accused him of spreading defamatory claims. He also objected to what he described as inappropriate comments made about a foreign woman leader.
Thakur further claimed that Rahul Gandhi had failed both in Parliament and on the streets, and alleged that he did not allow meaningful debate in the House. He said that even when discussions took place, Rahul Gandhi did not speak about the question paper leak issue or offer suggestions on what changes were needed.
Thakur added that the words used against the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister showed Rahul Gandhi’s distrust and frustration.
